Hospitality Studies at Townsville Grammar School aims to introduce the students to a range of employment opportunities in the hospitality industry. The subject Hospitality Studies is offered to students in Year 10, with Hospitality Studies and Hospitality Practices available for study in Years 11 & 12.

Year 10

A broad overview of the industry is given particularly concentrating on the food production and service sectors, with practical work including cookery undertaken. Topics of study are Food Production, Food Service, Nutrition and the Hospitality Industry, and Accommodation Services.

Years 11 & 12

Hospitality Studies is an Authority Subject available for Years 11 & 12 students and combines general and vocational education components. Topics covered are Food Production, Beverage Production & Service, Food & Beverage Service, and Clubs and Gaming.

Vocational education components are embedded to incorporate the industry framework course “Certificate I in Hospitality (Operations)" combined with partnership studies in THH11002 "Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations)" at the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE, Pimlico Campus. 

Hospitality is an Authority Registered subject that combines general and vocational education components, incorporating the industry framework course "Certificate I in Hospitality (Operations)" combined with partnership studies in THH11002 "Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations)" at the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE, Pimlico Campus.
