Information Technology at Townsville Grammar encourages students to develop the knowledge, skills, processes and attitudes that are required for effective participation in the community as responsible and capable uses of information technology.
Year 7-9
Information Technology Foundations forms part of the core course studied by all Year 7-9 students.
Four areas of study undertaken by the Year 7-9 students are Accessing and Constructing Digital Information, Digital Communication, Interfacing with Machines and Participating in Online Communities.
Year 10
Year 10 students may choose to continue their studies in Information Technology as an elective subject.

Year 11-12
Information Processing & Technology is an Authority subject. It provides students with knowledge, skills, processes and understanding of information technology. It emphasises problem identification and solution rather than the use of specific applications, and is an intellectual discipline that involves a study of information and intelligent systems, software and system engineering, human-computer interaction, and the social and ethical issues associated with the use of information technology. Students engage in a wide variety of practical and theoretical learning experiences.
Information and Communications Technology is an Authority Registered subject and it is concerned with using information and communications technologies (ICTs) to provide practical solutions to real life or simulated real life problems. Its student-centred approach promotes confident, competent and self-motivated users and consumers of ICTs.
