Townsville Grammar School Pre-Prep Centre is the first possible entry point to the Townsville Grammar community. Situated within the grounds of the TGS Annandale Campus the Pre-Prep Centre provides a secure, caring & disciplined environment where children will be encouraged to develop their sense of self confidence & respect for knowledge & each other in order to be able to explore their world & realise their personal best.
Key Learning Areas:
To incorporate what we believe are the essential learning areas to be covered each day, we have constructed the curriculum around six Key Learning Areas for the Pre-Prep Programme. These are:
1. Social & Personal Learning
2. Health & Physical Learning
3. Literacy, Language & Communication
4. Numeracy
5. Science
6. Creative Arts
The Pre-Prep students wear the TGS sports uniform each day, including hat & carry a TGS duffel bag. To be eligible for Pre-Prep, children must turn four before June 30 in their year of entry. They are then invited to be part of the Prep Programme the following year. The Centre opens at 7.00am each day & closes at 6.00pm each evening for those who wish to access the Long Day Care component. The Before School Care runs from 7.00am to 9.00am & After School Care runs from 3.00pm to 6.00pm. The distinctive Pre-Prep Programme runs from 9.00am to 3.00pm. The Centre operates 50 weeks of the year.
