The students of Year 10 at Townsville Grammar School are under the care of Year Level Co-ordinator, Ms Yvonne West whose primary role is the pastoral care of the students. She is ably supported by Form Teachers who meet weekly to discuss issues pertinent to the Year 10 cohort.

Year 10 is a vital, formative year in the development of effective habits for success in the Senior years of study and for life beyond school. An extensive programme that emphasises inter-personal and academic organisational skills, goal setting and prioritising is presented to prepare the students for the senior subject selection process.

The development of a focussed middle schooling philosophy has allowed for an ongoing ‘seniorisation’ of the Year 10 curriculum, emphasizing the core subjects and allowing for a broad choice of elective options.
