The students of Year 11 at Townsville Grammar School are under the care of Year Level Co-ordinator, Mrs Nicky Horstmann whose primary role is the pastoral care of the students. She is ably supported by Form Teachers who meet weekly to discuss issues pertinent to the Year 11 cohort.

The students, teachers and Year Level Co-ordinator meet at the Year Level Assemblies, held on Thursdays, where students are informed and involved in topics that will help them better meet the demands of life in Year 11. Themes for these Assemblies are wide-ranging, covering both academic and personal development needs, with an underlying focus on burgeoning leadership skills. These skills can then be put into practice in the School’s Interact Club where Year 11s fill the key executive positions.
