Each year, Townsville Grammar School celebrates Boarders Week to celebrate over 120 years of boarding at TGS.

Boarders come from a diverse range of backgrounds including a number of boarders who travel thousands of kilometres from other countries to be part of Townsville Grammar School. Boarders add a unique dimension to the school community with experiences, skills and backgrounds that can be quite different from local Townsville students.

Boarders Week commenced on Monday 14 May with a special Assembly dedicated to celebrating boarding at TGS. On Tuesday, teaching staff were invited to the dormitories to meet the students and see their school-time home. On Friday night, Year 7 and 8 boarders invited their day student friends for a sleepover.
