What is Outside Hours Care? (OSHC)outside hours school care both images

Outside Hours Care (OSHC) is a childcare service operated within the Townsville Grammar Junior School to provide care for children in attendance at the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. OSHC offers before and after school care, Pupil Free Day care and Vacation Care.

How many children may attend at any one time?

OSHC is a fully licensed and accredited childcare service. The Federal Government will allow us to care for 90 children in Before School Care, and 90 children for the other services each day. There are rare circumstances when we are allowed to accept “extra” children, eg. during periods of family crisis and/or emergency.

Where is OSHC?

OSHC operates primarily from the Wenck Building at Annandale Campus.

What are the operating hours?

  • Before School Care: 7:00am - 9:00am
  • After School Care: 2:45pm - 6:00pm
  • Pupil Free and Vacation Care Days: 7:00am - 6:00pm

These hours are strictly adhered to at all times.

How do I book places?

Parents or legal guardians need to contact OSHC staff directly at the Townsville Grammar Junior School via (07) 4722 4957 during operating hours, to make arrangements to collect an Information for Parents Package.

The Package contains general information about OSHC and the necessary Enrolment Forms to be completed prior to attendance. Places are not held or guaranteed unless a written OSHC Enrolment Form has been received and confirmed. This form is also available at OSHC. Places need to be re‐applied for annually. New families are urged to contact OSHC upon confirmation of enrolment at the Townsville Grammar School, as places generally fill up very quickly for each programme.
