Financial assistance with tuition fees is available through a number of avenues: Academic Scholarships, Music Bursaries or Boarding Bursaries.

For students undertaking the International Baccalaureate, there is also an International Baccalaureate Scholarship. For external candidates, the General Excellence Bursary or Special Ability Bursary may apply.  All Scholarships and Bursaries listed provide partial remission of fees.

Academic Scholarship Exams 

You can register for an ACER Scholarship (Academic) for entry into Townsville Grammar School for 2017. Details of venue and procedures on the day will be sent to you closer to the examination date of Saturday, 27 February, 2016 at the North Ward campus of Townsville Grammar. 

  • Apply for a Level 1 ACER Scholarship Test if your child will enter Year 7 or 8 in 2017.
  • Apply for a Level 3 ACER Scholarship Test if your child will enter Year 11 in 2017.

International Baccalaureate Scholarships are available to students entering Year 11 the following year and is awarded for Years 11 and 12. Music Bursaries are available to students entering Years 7 and 8 the following year. Click here for more information about Music Bursaries.

Boarding Bursaries
 are available for students entering Years 7 and 8 the following year. These are generally offered until the end of the Middle School when students can reapply for consideration for Senior School. Boarding Bursaries are available for both internal and external candidates.  Click here for more information about Boarding Bursaries.

General Excellence Bursaries for Middle and Senior School students are now available. General Excellence Bursaries are available only to external candidates.  Click here for more information about General Excellence Bursaries.

Special Ability Bursaries are available on an ongoing basis. Special Ability Bursaries are only available to external candidates. These do not have a specific criteria nor a particular closing date. Students with special abilities should compile a comprehensive portfolio of achievements and references, with supporting documentation to submit directly to the Principal.
