Townsville Grammar School congratulates our 2017 Year 12 students on their outstanding OP results. In total, nearly 30% of the OP cohort achieved an OP1-3 outcome, generating the best ever results for the School since the inception of the OP system in 1992. This result compares with a Queensland state average of 11.75%. The depth of results was also exceptional with over 50% of TGS students gaining an OP1-7 and more than 70% achieving an OP1-10 outcome.
At Grammar over 90% of Year 12 students in 2017 were eligible for an OP score or International Baccalaureate result, reflecting the tertiary aspirations of the majority of students compared with a Queensland average of approximately 50%.
These impressive results are expected to be even further enhanced with the arrival of International Baccalaureate scores in early January. Our IB students and teachers are looking forward in anticipation to all results being available for shared celebration.
Grammar's excellent tertiary entrance outcomes are the product of a positive learning environment shared by motivated students, supportive parents and high quality teachers. The School acknowledges the wonderful support it enjoys within the community and the highly commendable efforts of all Year 12 students and their teachers.
