North Ward Campus (Years 7 to 12)
As a reflection of the growing interest in Dance, Townsville Grammar School will be introducing a new co-curricular Dance Programme for Middle and Senior Students at the North Ward Campus, commencing Term 1, 2019.
In Grammar Dance, students are taught techniques and choreography in a range of styles, including Jazz, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop and Contemporary. Classes combine exercise with fun, as well as stimulating creativity, spatial and group awareness skills, improving co-ordination, performance ability and technical skills.
To accommodate other co-curricular activities that run after school, weekly classes are held in our Dance Studio at the North Ward Campus before school. Our programme caters for beginners through to experienced dancers and includes two groups: Grammar Dance BLACK and Grammar Dance GOLD.
Grammar Dance is a yearly commitment and requires a levy payment. Please see the below document for more information.
The aim of Dance at TGS is to provide a positive learning environment whereby students are encouraged to become creative risk takers and find their passion in Dance. For any inquiries, please contact:
