Tue 25th February
Chess is offered across both campuses, with students competing in school, local, regional and state competitions. Players from beginners through to expert are welcome.
At the Annandale Campus, students are able to participate in weekly chess games and lessons, held one afternoon each week. Selected students compete in the three rounds of the Townsville district’s Gardiner Interschool Chess Competition as well as a unique local tri-school competition that is designed to develop player’s competition skills.
North Wards Campus
At the North Ward Campus, Chess Club members participate in a friendly atmosphere during lunchtime matches each week. Students can also use Chess Club time as an opportunity to coach each other and hone their skills in preparation for the Gardiner Interschool competitions. Students are invited to come along and not only learn an important game of strategy but also make new friends.
