Thu 4th July
Grandparents will return to school for the day at Townsville Grammar School’s North Shore Early Education Centre this Thursday.
As a fitting end to the third term of the School year, the three and four year old students at Grammar are having a celebration day designed around their grandparents who have been invited ‘back to school’ for the morning. Grandparents have already started arriving in droves in Townsville, many from other cities, with a number from interstate, to be a part of this day with their grandchildren.
The invitation also extends to special friends such as aunties, uncles, adult siblings or cousins, so that children can invite someone special in lieu of their grandparents.
Guests will enjoy a classroom visit from 9.00am, where they are able to spend time in their grandchild’s classroom. The special guests then are invited to have morning tea with their grandchildren.
“It is extremely special, last year we had four generations here on the one day! We also had another grandparent on Skype from the UK to be part of the celebrations,” Director of Early Education, Cyndi Friend said. “We can’t wait to meet all the grandparents and show them around our Early Education Centre. The children are so excited about the event.”
