Thu 23rd May
Grandparents will return to school for the day at Townsville Grammar School’s Annandale Campus on Friday morning this week.
As a fitting end to the first term of the School year, Junior School students at Grammar’s Annandale Campus are having a celebration day designed around their grandparents who have been invited ‘back to school’ for the morning. Grandparents have already started arriving in droves in Townsville, many from other cities, a number from interstate and even some from overseas, to be a part of this day with their grandchildren.
The invitation also extends to special friends such as aunties, uncles, adult siblings or cousins, so that children can invite someone special in lieu of their grandparents.
Guests will enjoy a classroom visit from 9.00am, where they are able to spend time in their grandchild’s classroom. Morning tea is scheduled across the campus for 10.20am to 11.00am. As there are over 500 grandparents and special friends expected this is certainly going to be a very large morning tea!
Following morning tea, at 11.00am, guests and students will be treated to a concert of musical items, with every year group performing an item.
At the conclusion of the day, children will then be able to look forward to sharing the Easter holidays with their grandparents and special friends. Now that’s a great way to start the school holidays!
