Townsville Grammar School student, Callum Fisher has earned the title of one of the funniest teenagers in the schoolyard upon his return from the National Grand Finals of the Class Clowns competition.
Class Clowns, part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, is a national secondary school competition encouraging students with a talent for comedy to unleash their comic voice through stand-up, sketch, musical or physical comedy.
Heats for this special event took place in March this year, and were open to entrants aged 14-18years. Finalists from across the Australia, met last week, for a huge teenager comedy bash held in Melbourne’s Town Hall.
Callum, who plays a soldier in Townsville Grammar Schools upcoming production of The Beach, is studying Drama as part of his year 10 subject selection. As part of the competition, Callum had the opportunity to meet with professional comedians and has made several connections in the Australian comedy community. He delivered a standout performance and is keen to pursue comedy as one of his future endeavours.
