Townsville Grammar School Students were amongst the avid readers who gathered to compete in the regional Readers Cup Competition held in Townsville last night.
The North Queensland regional Readers Cup attracted students from 42 Schools. The competition challenges students to read widely, work collaboratively in a team and continue developing a love of reading. All book loving participants were asked to read 5 novels and then answer quiz questions from the books.
Townsville Grammar School’s Secondary division team [Gabriel Diedrick, Minette Wilde (7/17) and Mille Andrews and Phoebe Evans (8/17)] took home the Regional Champions Trophy. This is the 7th time Townsville Grammar School has won this trophy since the Readers Cup Competition was established 14 years ago.
Our winning team is now looking forward to competing in The State Final for Readers’ Cup, held in Brisbane on September 6 at the State Library.
