Thu 4th July
Dear Grammar Community,
With conditions showing some improvement today, we are preparing to re-open all three campuses of our School (including OSHC, Pre-Prep and the EEC) tomorrow morning so that students can return to some semblance of normal routines. The campuses have been inspected over the last couple of days and, apart from a few leaks, the School’s facilities have coped well with the deluge of rain. If it is safe for you to travel to school, classes will be operating tomorrow. However, we are aware that some members of our community are continuing to experience hardship and it is not possible for students to return as yet.
Many of our community have been adversely affected, including teaching and support staff, so not all classes will operate as usual. However, we will provide relevant school work and supervision for all students who attend classes from tomorrow.
At this time, we are unsure of what is occurring with Sunbus chartered routes, but all TGS operated routes will be running.
The School’s tuckshops will not be in operation tomorrow.
A number of families have lost most, if not all, of their school uniforms and school books. In consideration of this, if your child has no uniforms available to them, they can attend classes in casual clothes. Please wear covered shoes to school (ie no thongs).
Uniform Donation Pool
If you have uniforms you can donate to others please take them to Brenda at our Uniform Shop so that others affected can try to find something to wear. Similarly, if you took a bag of uniforms to the Shop in January to sell as second-hand clothing, these have not yet been sorted, so feel free to add these to the donation pool by emailing Brenda: firstname.lastname@example.org. Give your name and permission for these to be added to the Uniform Donation Pool.
To ensure students bring the correct books and equipment to school; tomorrow will be a Wednesday, Week B.
All North Ward students attending school tomorrow are asked to assemble in the Gymnasium at 8.45am.
We look forward to welcoming many of our students back to school tomorrow and really getting the 2019 school year underway.
