Music & Ensembles
Music is a vital part of the culture at Townsville Grammar School, with a comprehensive co-curricular program that caters to both instrumentalists and vocalists across all year levels.
The Music Program is designed to foster a lifelong appreciation for music while helping students develop confidence, self-esteem, creativity, and a strong sense of personal responsibility. Through participation in ensembles, choirs, and individual tuition, students also learn the importance of teamwork, discipline, and punctuality—skills that extend well beyond the rehearsal room and into all areas of life.
Our Co-Curricular Music Program offers a wide range of opportunities, including choral groups, instrumental ensembles, and private tuition, allowing students to explore their musical interests and progress according to their individual talents and ambitions.
To support and recognise exceptional musical talent, the School offers Music Bursaries each year for students entering Years 7 to 11. These bursaries provide access to additional guidance, mentorship, and resources, enabling students to further develop their skills and achieve their full potential in music. Learn more.
