Co-curricular Music Opportunities
Join the Co-Curricular Music program and dive into a world where students get to sing, play, perform, and explore music in all sorts of exciting styles—think classical masterpieces, movie soundtracks, jazz standards, pop anthems, choral harmonies, and everything in between!
Being part of a choir or ensemble is more than just learning notes—it’s about teamwork, creativity, and showing off what you’ve worked hard on during performances. Students build confidence, sharpen their musical skills, and discover the thrill of performing together. Best of all, they become part of a buzzing music community where friendships form, laughter happens, and unforgettable memories are made both on and off the stage.
Instrumental Ensembles & Choirs
Townsville Grammar School’s Music Program offers students from Year 1 to Year 12 a variety of vocal and instrumental ensembles to suit all abilities and interests. Led by our experienced Music Teachers and Tutors, these choirs and ensembles provide structured learning, performance opportunities, and personal growth.
Students can take part in orchestras, bands, chamber groups, and choirs, developing skills such as leadership, teamwork, and confidence along the way. Regular rehearsals, concerts, and special events give students the chance to showcase their talents, engage with fellow musicians, and be part of a supportive and inspiring musical community.

Performance & Workshop Opportunities
The Townsville Grammar School Music Program provides students with a wide range of performance opportunities throughout the year, allowing them to showcase their skills and progress in a variety of settings. From school assemblies and concerts to end-of-term showcases, students gain valuable experience performing in front of an audience and develop confidence and stage presence along the way.
In addition to in-school performances, students have the option to participate in externally delivered workshops, programs, events, and festivals. These experiences allow them to collaborate with other young musicians, learn from professional artists, and explore new styles and techniques. By taking part in these activities, students not only enhance their musical development but also enjoy the excitement of being part of a broader music community beyond the school.
