Performing Arts
The School offers a rich and diverse range of Music, Theatre, and Dance co-curricular options for students from the Junior School through to Senior levels. These programs are designed to nurture creativity, self-confidence, and teamwork, while also developing cultural awareness and a broad set of skills that are essential for young people to flourish in the 21st century. At Townsville Grammar, we are committed to providing a positive and engaging Performing Arts program that not only fosters a deep appreciation for the arts but also offers a safe and supportive environment in which students can explore, learn, and grow.
Performing Arts at Townsville Grammar is organised into three main areas: Dance, Music, and Theatre. Within each of these facets, students are exposed to a wide variety of performance genres and styles, allowing them to explore their interests and develop a diverse skill set. From technical proficiency to creative expression, collaboration, and performance confidence, the program equips students with abilities that extend well beyond the stage.
To support talented and motivated students, the School offers Performing Arts Bursaries in Music, Dance, and Theatre for students in Years 7 to 12. These bursaries aim to recognise exceptional potential, provide opportunities for further development, and ensure that all students with passion and dedication have access to the resources and guidance they need to excel in the Performing Arts.
