Fri 21st July
Boarders are the backbone of most of Townsville Grammar School sporting teams and take the field in black and gold to proudly represent their School in Rugby, Netball and Rowing.
Weekend activities are organised for the boarders who remain on campus, and are organised and approved by the Head of Boarding and fully supervised by Boarding Houseparents and staff. These activities vary from week to week and are designed to help develop the whole person in a safe and secure environment.
Activities include ten-pin bowling, movies, restaurant dinners, Indoor Sports Centre, shopping, picnics, a night out to cheer on the North Queensland Cowboys or the Townsville Fire, trips to Magnetic Island and other local attractions plus much more.
Boarders may be granted leave (with parental permission) on any weekend of the year. We believe that spending quality time with family and friends in a homely environment is healthy. In tandem with the School's curricular and co-curricular activities, boarding at Townsville Grammar School is part of a total experience which contributes to our students' personal, physical, social, cultural and moral development.
