Townsville Grammar Junior School students are giving the gift of light to communities in PNG that have limited or no electricity.
As part of Townsville Grammar Schools STEM program, 50 year 3 students will be collaborating with Professor Rod, YWAM representatives and teachers from the School. Together the students will be constructing 25 solar powered lights which will be donated and distributed to PNG communities.
The engineering workshop is being held as part of science week, students will use the exercise to further their knowledge of electric circuits and solar power, solar radiation and the importance of light.
